Callan Solem Wins Crowne Plaza Resort NAL Speed Stake
at 38th Annual Lake Placid Horse Show
Lake Placid, NY —June 30, 2007— Callan Solem of Colts Neck, New Jersey rode Warsaw to victory in the Crowne Plaza NAL Speed Stake at the 38th annual Lake Placid Horse Show.
Solem completed the one-round course at the North Elba Showgrounds without penalty in a time of 70.622 seconds to claim the win. Finishing second in the North American League (NAL) qualifying competition with a time of 72.825 seconds on Cilthe Z was Laura Chapot of Neshanic Station , New Jersey ..
The North American L eague (NA L ) runs season-long series in six hunter and jumper divisions – Open Jumper Speed, Children’s Jumper, Adult Jumper, Pony Jumper, Children’s Hunter and Adult Hunter Presented by Practical Horseman. Each series culminates with a championship final at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg , PA , in October. Riders need not be members of the NA L to compete in any qualifying classes, but only current members earn points toward year-end finals. The 2007 Lake Placid Horse Show culminates Sunday with the $75,000 Budweiser Grandprix of Lake Placid CSI 3*, presented by RV Sales of Broward. The 30th annual I Love New York Horse Show, highlighted by the $60,000 Hermès Grandprix CSI 3* on Saturday, July 7, follows at the same site, July 3-8.
